I'm 15 and depressed?

I've failed a math class once and I might've failed it twice. I have given up my dreams of doing anything useful as of now and I think it would've been better to die. Worse I'm fat, weak, and just plain lame. I'm going into the 10th grade but now I feel like there is no chance for me to get into a school for computer programming and most certainly no chance of a top tier school like UCBerkeley or MIT. Is there any chance in those areas or am I should I quit before it gets worse?

  1. have faith and you have to be strong, its hard but ur starting to get to that time where u have to work REALLY hard to reach your dreams. and for the math thing, if you really dont wanna fail then use your strength and study or ask the teacher or SOMETHING just dont give up

  2. Sweetheart, I was once in your shoes. Its overwelming to think of everything all at once. Take one test at a time. Get the tutoring don't be lazy and hope you'll be able to do it on your own. Take baby step with your health. Instead of taking an elevator, take the stairs. College is awhile away, take each test one at a time.

  3. Stop moaning! get a workout routine! first of all, its been proven that sprinting for at least 30 seconds makes you happpier, so i suggest you go out and do it.

and math isent the be all and end all. maybe its just not your forte.

    TRY HARDER!

practice makes perfect. maybe you could get a math tutor?

    good luck! =]

  4. waa... im clinically depressed with anxiety and no therapy at this point. so you failed a class. i failed a class too. god a failed all my classes last year. well i got all d's so just passed. im not depressed cuz of that. god you're such a wimp. failing one class does not mean you won't go to collage. no one perfect. if collages were looking for perfect people, no one would be in collage. and i couldn't make myself feel sorry for you i i tried. cuz there are people who are ACTUALLY depressed and everything just seems to suck for them because of it. grow up.

  5. Ha you sound like me at that age which is funny cause i was just thinking about how i wish i could go back to that knowing every thing i know now. My advise. Start eating better and getting in better shape. Your whole freaking life will get better around it. You could try joing a martial arts place. Great for confidents Either way get in shape and things will change. I promise. Your life will change for the better some how thats meaningfull

  6. you are still young!!!!! just keep doing your best, you have a long ways to go and life will get harder, trust me!

you just have to try your hardest, think about what you can do

    to make yourself better!!!

if you fail class - think about a tutor

    if your fat - EXERCISE!!

and one very important thing is to THINK POSTIVE

know that you are better and can DO better!!!

you are young and have a long ways to go

LIFE IS TOO SHORT TO BE UNHAPPY!!!!

    good luck kid!!

and if you can promise one thing for me.... is to SMILE!!! after you are done reading this!!!

    :)

    you better do it!!!!

    :):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):)

    there thats better!!!

  7. i was the same but i've managed to pull myself together last year, here is what i noticed [hope to help]

well for starters moping around and doing nothing will get you no where, if you want something force yourself to do it! you want to lose weight, sitting around moping about your body isn't gonna help, work out and eat right and actually TRY, same goes w/ your grades study harder, do extra work, ask teachers for help. life isn't going to give you things you have to go out and find it, i dream of going to UC Berkely as well, thats actually helped me achieve every time i get uver bored and pissed off i think about my future and remind myself of what i'm striving for. IDK how to help you for you have to realize everything yourself. just DON'T GIVE UP!

  8. Don't feel that way. In high school, I failed Algebra 1 once and Geometry twice and still made it into a 4-year college and I am majoring in Biotechnology! Anyways, times are changing and they aren't just looking at your grades anymore. That's not to say to slack off. It's all about selling yourself to your college of choice. Get involved and join some clubs. I've had friends who graduated high school with 4.3 GPAs and had 1400 SAT scores (sorry this was before they changed the SAT scoring) and couldn't get into any UC while others had 1100 SAT and 3.3 GPAs and got into UCLA! I won't lie to you, however. MIT, Harvard, Yale, etc. are very hard school to get into. But if you play your cards right, you can accomplish it. I know someone who attends USC and didn't do sports and had a 2.6 GPA! They do interviews when considering you in their school. So don't just look at your transcript and think you're screwed. There is so many other areas that you can be successful in!

  9. Please, join the club. At times I feel the exact same way. But h**l dude, your going into 10th grade. Not in 10th grade, going into 10th grade. How are you going to give up on something you haven't even started yet? Here are a few tips that I found help me alot. (By the way I'm in the exact same situation as you, and after just finishing summer school for bashing a kid's head in, fortunately I've found a way to better cope with things.)

    - Drink a cup of coffee every day before you go to school, it's a good temporary anti-depressant, and will at least keep your mind functioning while your at school.

    - Keep busy. Whenever you feel depressed just clean or do something! Better than just sitting around waiting to die, (and believe me I've actually tried to sit to death)

    - **** everyone! You don't need to fit in with the 'In' crowd, I sure as h**l don't and it's very unlikely that you won't find a click you won't absoultely fit in with.

    - Dream! Life sucks but dreams don't. Keep a dream log and look into lucid dreaming, it sure as helped me alot.

    - Listen to music to unwind. It's a really good way to relax.

Please feel free to send me a message if you want to talk.

  10. i know its rough at your age but think about it this way, if you quit now or give up then what? live off your parents for the rest of your life, use your friends until they kick you to the curb? stand ona street corner with a tin cup and beg change? you dont have the luxury of giving up. instead of giving up why not try harder. being fat isnt a reason to give up. just try to give up the fattening foods. when things get you down go take a walk around the block. try getting a tutor to help you with math. you have 3 years to change your attitude. another thing, stop stressing over things that havent happen yet. you havent even applied to berkeley or MIT. take one problem at a time. what do you want to accomplish first? work on that. then once youve reached your goal, take on a new goal. good luck

  11. No, don't quit. You can do it.

My friend failed algebra class, but she retook it at summer school. you should do the same. maybe seek out a counselor. all you need is motivation or help. i'm not good at everything, so i ask people for help. you should do that too. with help, maybe you can achieve your dreams.

it's probably to late to take a math class at summer school, but when you get back to school, you should take extra courses in college [like after school].

  12. you have until 12th grade, so theres time, just work at it a bit harder next time.

  13. hi..having these feelings are normal at your age..so cheer up..your in AMERICA..land of the free !!..when i was your age i was very shy and introverted and afraid of girls..so as i got older i joined some church groups and they helped me get out of my shell..i know if you attend a church regularly and get involved in helping with computers or maybe another passion, that you will feel better, happier and meet new friends too..try it..you might just like it and one day you'll be off to college with a bright future !!..Blessings..
