Hi, got an interview at all call centre place in my local town. My mate works there and says its not really an interview, well what will it be then? The woman said they are interviewing at 11:00am and I must be there for then, so there must be a lot of people.

It is minimum wage, so how much is that per hour?

(16-18 year old)

Also, should I wear a shirt, what shall I do, I am not nervous, just never been to an interview before?

Thanks

  1. Mostly it is just so they can get a sense of you and make sure you can actually do the job as well as you getting an idea of what your job will be and if you are interested in doing the actual task they would require

Because it is a call center they usually hire most but sometimes people aren't always good at talking on the phone so not everyone qualifies but if you don't get it don't worry about it you can get something else that is better suited for you.

You should wear a clean crisp ironed shirt w/ a nice pair of pants or at least pressed clean jeans. NO wrinkled or dirty

Make sure you are bathed, neat hair, and nails clean.  When you look good you feel good and when you feel good you do good.

In the interview be confident but listen, don't interrupt, smile, make sure you shake their hand firmly when you first meet them and then when you are finished shake again thanking them for the opportunity.  Do not accept any food or beverage during this procedure unless it is super long and then accept water so your mouth doesn't get dry.

Also, do your very best to arrive 15 minutes prior to the interview but do NOT be late

Depending on your state is how much minimum wage but just google ~ minimum wage and the city state which you live then it will tell you

    Good LUCK!!!

  2. Firstly, well done you

Check this out for minimum wage for your age group:

    http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/nmw/

Wear a shirt, comb your hair and smile. Ask about the role (try and find out something about the place) You will be ok and I wish you the very best sweetheart.

  3. Don't worry, she will no you are only 16, so will expect you to be nervous.

You should wear a shirt and tie and trousers, No jeans. And Shoes, NOT Trainers, no matter how smart u think they look.  If you have a suit that would be a good option.  Even if they operate a casual dress policy and you would be wearing Jeans and T-shirt day to day, it does not matter. An Interview is wear you show a potential employer how serious you are about wanting this job.  And one of the ways you do that is bu showing how much effort you have made in your appearance.

Even if they say it is not an interview, treat it like one.

But, don't over think the problem.  Yes the interview is at 11.  but maybe they are only starting the interviews at that time. or they are allocating 1 hour to each one. which means you would be 1st or 2nd.  Most people do start interviews at 9am. Don't think about hom many other people are going to the interview.  Just remember to speak calmly and clearly and be honest with your answers. I you don't understand something ask (better to employ someone who does not know everything but is willing to learn, than someone who pretends to know everything and wont learn).

She will ask you if you have any questions at the end, you could ask about money at that point. But only then.

    Good Luck.

  4. Yes, shirt and tie...Dress nicely, smile and be friendly, and be yourself. Good luck!

  5. Good luck!  It shouldn't be a difficult interveiw, just go there in a shirt and tie and some smart trousers and they'll ask you to fill out an application form (if you haven't already) then they'll have a little chat.  It probably won't be too formal, sounds like you probably already have the job, so just be friendly and polite, it should be fine.  Minimum wage for you would be pretty low, I'd guess about £4.20 or something (thats what I started on)

  6. First off, anytime you go to talk to someone about a job prospect, it IS an interview, so go prepared to answer some questions.

second, I'm not sure what the minimum wage is in your state, but it varies with some jobs, and experience.

Third, yes, wear a shirt, and pants!! Preferrably a white short-sleeve button-up (No T-shirts,) and maybe a tie.

Lastly, keep in mind one thing, if this is your first job interview, it will set the mark on how well you do on future job interviews, so go with a clear mind, and a calm attitude.

    Good luck. ;)

  7. Be formal and be yourself. Good luck!
