  1. i agree with the first poster, listen to your parents.

  2. do you really want to know what your rights are?  none you are a minor and are entitled to nothing  sry

  3. Well, if the car is in her name, then I don't know what your rights are because technically it is her car.  I would just try to smooth things over with your mom so she will just give you back the car.  Getting involved in a legal dispute won't help anything.

  4. You are a minor and can do nothing about it. Just what did you do that made her take the car away?

  5. if you have reciepts that you paid for the car and your insurance THAT CAR IS YOURS AND THAT Is like your mom stealing it. I WOULD CONTACT THE police deptmartment and ask the for advice.

  6. None. You are NOT of legal age to purchase a vehicle -- you are a minor CHILD and you are just going to have to deal with it until you reach the legal age limit in your state. Then you can move out and do whatever you want.

  7. I am in your exact same situation. If 16, 17, and 18 year olds drive, they should be able to have it in their own name! I am financing my car and pay all of it myself!

I had a friend that got it permanently taken away. She stopped paying the insurance on it. XD

Next, she stopped paying car payments, which affected the mom's credit. XD

    Then maybe they will realize.

  8. Congratulations of your willingness to work to completely finance all the expenses of your vehicle. Here comes the bad news.  You have no rights in this matter.  In the eyes of the law the car legally belongs to the person named on the registration.which is probably your mom.

Just "play" nice and eventually she will let you have it back. Once you turn 18 either get the title transferred into your name, or trade it in for a car that is in your name. Sorry, not what you want to hear.

  9. Technically, it is your car, but at your age, arguing about getting it back shouldn't help your case either. I suggest you wait this out to avoid further complications.

  10. dont escalate the situation.

Your mom is trying to get your attention with punishment....And with this post you are trying to go around her.

    Listen to your mom.

  11. This seems to me a gray area because you are 16.

Did your mom take the car away from you temporarily or permanently?

Your mom is responsible for you. Do yourself a favor and just ease up. Listen to her.
