I'm 16 ; Is it illegal to drive without having taken drivers training?

I am gonna take the test to obtain a permit. Should I still take driver's training? i already took driver's education. I don't know if it's illegal to drive without haven taken Driver's training , i mean my dad can teach me too, right?

Its illegal to drive alone without a license, if you have a permit, you can drive as long as someone 21+ is in the car with you.
