  1. youtube it!! and dont worry i started out like that in water polo.

i was being out swam by girls but you do get better if you try.

  2. Play one on one with someone at about your own skill level/size: there is nothing like competition to inspire confidence/desire.

  3. i agree wit Rob W

  4. grow a pair

  5. Practise, it's no good playing just because your tall, you have to work hard at it then you can be good at it.

    Stamina - run

Dribbling and shooting, watch videos on youtube of how to do it, then practise.

Then when you grow to 6'8 you can dunk on people like i do.

  6. just go to the lowest team in your school or something.... dont be in the A team or the top team because they are the best... so just go to the lowest team and u feel more confident

thats wat i did and i was the B team player in my school

  7. practice and just because ur tall doesn't mean you should play basketball, u have to have the talent and passion.

  8. 3 words, practice, practice, practice, ok, i know that was just one word but u get my point. this summer get the basketball in ur hands as much as possible, i used to be the same way u were, but i practiced a lot and with more skill will come confidence.

    Hope this helps!

  9. id say just practice ur stuff at home, that should build up ur confidence and skills

for stamina, try running a few times a week

  10. Have fun! If you don't enjoy basketball, don't do it. Or get into a lower key team that is just for fun and the games aren't such a big deal. I know, people get really competitive sometimes. Try signing up for the Boys and Girls Club league.

  11. just ignore the crowd..do u..........

  12. unfortunatley being tall doesn't mean you can play ball, but if it's something u want to do then practice and work hard, after all it is hard work, I've done it and I'm 5'10"

  13. Go to a basketball camp.  You wont have the pressure of so many people watching, and the directors will put you with people of your skill level.  This will improve your confidence!

Additionally, start RUNNING!  Do runs where you run hard for 60 seconds and walk for 180 seconds.  Repeat 5 to 10 times!

You are 16!!!  You should have ALL of the stamina in the world!

  14. Practice, Practice Practice.

You have to practice like everyday for at least 2 hours.

Once you practice, the better you get. You are in good shape right now.

  15. Alright listen to to me, the best way to improve your stamina is to jumprope, run sprints, and use agility ladders. These are probably the most simple excercises to increase stamina, and they also help with jumping, explosivness, quickness, and balance. For dribbling, just get really low, and to practice use two balls. For shooting just practice shooting under the basket and slowly move out. I hope this helps. remember not to be afriad, you're freakin 6'5". just have fun, and scare the living c**p out of the shorter people.

  16. grow some d**n nuts you ***** and i dont think you're really that tall

  17. Just because you're tall doesn't mean you need to play bb or automatically be good at it. Try different things and do what you enjoy most.

  18. I cant give you your confidence if this is what you wanna do the confidence will develop. Start by dribbling in place 1000 times with your weak hand then practice walking between the legs then running between the legs. Then behind the back most of the moves will come naturally the more you play .  . . you will surprise yourself. Shooting I'm a 14 year old girl and if my wrist and shoulders are healthy i shoot 500 a day if nit i shoot 250. Basketball is repetition, Don't care what anybody thinks. Sometimes i play with boys and they laugh or make fun of me when i make a mistake but the makes me determined to make up for it.

  19. You have to feel good about yourself and beleive that you could do it. Im kinda short and people have said that im to short to play basketball. Actually I dont think im to short cuz im 12 turning 13 at 5"2 or 5"3. I practiced and practiced and know i consider myself pretty good at playing basketball. I think to improve your stamina you can start jogging and increasing your speed slowly. Try that im not sure but i think it will help. For dribbiling try doing dribbiling drills. Stay in the same spot and just dribble and dribble. Then start dribbiling while walking. Then once you feel that you could handle to ball start running and dribbiling and making turns and all that stuff. That what I did! Good luck bro and practice!

  20. 1. you should start running, it helps build stamin

    2. get a private basketball coach

    3. if you cant afford one, dont play with people, go practice by yourself until you are good enough to play. i know a kid at my school who is 6'5" and he isnt AMAZING. dont think that jus cuz your above average height that you must be good at basketball.

  21. Go practice.  When you're at the gym/park practicing, start talking to the guys who seem to have a lot of passion for the game.  Maybe some of that will rub off on you and you will enjoy the game enough to practice even more.  That is the cycle that makes you a good player.  And once you are good... confidence is no longer an issue.

  22. Don't worry if you hav a game where u face a lousy team, you will score like 10 or 15 points and gain planty of confidence, RELAX

  23. wtf you 6'5 what the h**l you on . Only reason why they didn't put you on the team is because all you have to do is lay it in the basket. Wont you join cross country or the tall people club.

  24. The more you practice, the more stamina you're going to have. I don't have any special tricks to make you good, but practice is obviously your best bet.

6'5"? Just know when they look at you, they're intimidated. So don't look at them and think about how much better than you they might be, odds are you tower over them and they're scared.

  25. i play basketball for fun though, but what u need to do is be the one making all the shots. work on your cardio vascular for stamina, and dribble the ball 100 times on the left/right, while moving , running etc. and align the ball to ur middle finger where ever ur middle finger is pointing thats where the balls gonna go when u release good luck!

  26. go to a basketball about 3 days a week. shoot about 100 free throws. then take 20 shots on the 5 parts of the arc but inside so take jump shots. two elbows, two baselines, and the middle. then take about 10 three pointers from around the arc.  after that, to build ur stamina u should run about a mile right before u practice ur shots and run another one after. also, practice ur layups from the right side and the left side. take about 15 layups with ur right hand and 15 with ur left hand. then just practice dribbling while running and try dribbling with ur right hand then ur left so u can dribble well with both ur hands. since ur 6'5, u should practice driving to the basketball so practice some moves that could trick out ur opponent. if u want to know some moves u could do, email me and i can show u some of my youtube videos of me performing those moves and i have videos of this workout that i just explained. practice posting up on ur dad in the paint also. that will help u score on some bigger guys. also u should practice some moves in the paint so u can be more agile and swift wen ur up against defenders. i can also help u with ur moves in the paint. once u have become a better basketball player, u can play with other guys who are better than u or about the same, because if ur pretty good, u dont have to be nervous about them. so email if u want some more tips

  27. You need to PRACTICE!!! Watch games, go to games, go to the gym and get into really good shape (alot of cardio), eat healthy, and take multi-vitamines. These things will help to build your confidence. Concentrate a lot on your defense, and practice your close range shots. It also doesn't hurt to surround yourself with good friends that encourage you and make you feel good about yourself. There are also a lot of helpful videos on youtube. Here is an example.
