try starbucks they seem like they always need help. and all the fast food places are good to start they can always use the help

Keep in mind that it's extremely hard to get a job right now. I'm back from my first year of college and essentially NOBODY is hiring. Our economy isn't doing so well, and as a result jobs are becoming scarce. If you don't mind making minimum wage, I would try applying for stores at the mall, such as Hollister. From what I know, they're almost always hiring. If that's not really your thing, search around in random places and ask wherever you go if they're hiring. I would start at the mall, though.
