lifeguarding is great but you have to take courses to get certified

If you live near a Walgreens, apply there.  The starting pay is decent for someone who doesn't need to survive on the money ($7.50 and up), and they tend to work well with school schedules.

apply a lot.  I mean a lot.  Write Nice.  Don't look like a slob.  But other then that in this day and age you just have to be lucky or know someone.  Farm work though you can make some money there if you live anywhere close to a farm it is hay season in the North East US

Publix is really cool...if there is one near you. They work with school schedules too. Good luck with the job hunt. Just don't give up when people turn you down. A letter of recommendation from a pastor or trusted person will help too!

try and look at some small businesses in town such as a small jamba juice or a sporting godds store. nothing big, easy, and about 10 bucks an hour

You are at the hardest age! The best place to look is restaurant. Or maybe you should cut grass in your community or start a carwash! Good luck

I just turned 17 and this is what i did......

First, as much as people may make it sound companies DO need you as much as you need them so dont just take the first job you can get your hands on.

ask your friends, get an average on how much they make and find a job around that same pay. drive around and look for wanted signs, check your local new site online under jobs or classifieds. and from my exp. FAST FOOD SUCKS, and bad if you are trying to keep a clean face lol.
