I'm 16 years old and I want a credit card? Which bank do I have to go to get one?

Okay here's the deal, I'm 16 and I want to get a credit card ( as noted above) and I know my parents have to co-sign on the card. I have a job I make 8,000-10,000 dollars a year so I have income. And I know that I can legally sign a contract even if I'm 16 but I can also void the contract-that's why credit card companies won't give young people a credit card. But anyways, my parents opened a business and got all their credit cards taken away- because we were in so much debt. So will one of my parents still be allowed to co-sign on my credit card? I already have a checking and savings account so please don't suggest that it to me. So my question is where can I apply to get a credit card? Which bank?

Also I don't want the limit to be too high I want it to have an 1,000 dollar limit so I can make sure to keep myself in check, so I don't go too overboard.

  2. You can't get one and your parents can't co-sign for one in their financial condition.

  3. The correct answer is, even though the parents are having difficult financial situations, there are ways around it. Yes you need to be 18 to get a card on your own, however try out this site.  You will pay a price for it til you get your own credit rating and so will your parents.  You will pay a yearly fee on top of monthly maintenance fees and a higher APR.  But, it can be done.

  4. You couldn't get an actual credit card unless you were 18, but you can get pre-loaded cash cards that you can use in their stead. Some of these can value up to $1,000 and are a great substitute for credit cards as they don't incur debt.

  5. creditrepairuniverse.net

    repair and/or build your credit

    orchard secured car hsbc

    orchardbank.com

    or

    tribute credit card

but they can only put you as authorized user not co-signer your under age.

but you can have a card that way to use just in case.
