  1. Okay...re-edit my answer....

1st I can tell you that NO agent will ask for money. So if you're approached by one and they mention ANY fee, run the opposite direction.

2nd nothing beats an education. That said, you may be old enough for a community college course to get your feet wet. Going to auditions is great, but you really need to learn how to audition in order to nail the audition. (if you already know this, forgive me).

3rd backstage west is a newspaper with legitimate open auditions listed, but it always helps to find an agency.

4th get your headshots made but don't spend a bundle and don't order a lot (maybe 100)  because you're growing and when you're young, headshots quickly get outdated.

Do you have an audition tape/video to solicit to agents?  You'll need that. Quite simple. Memorize one popular monologue, and one classic monologue. Perform them in front of a simple setting like an off white wall and video tape it. Use a microphone if you can because the mic on a camera isn't good enough.  You'll need to learn the art of the query letter to solicit agents so start reading up on that .(google  how to query agent + actor + acting)

Other places to find open auditions (take an adult!) Craigslist and mandy.com
