  1. Hate to tell you this but if you don't have a cosigner and if bhph is't an option then you don't have much option. Your best bet is cash or find a for sale by owner that will let you make payments. If it's your first car don't spend over 2-3k anyway. Regardless of how good a driver you think you are you will wreck it or someone will hit you within a couple years so don't sink a lot of money in it. I spent almost 10k on a car when I graduated. I got run off the road by a truck an totaled the thing. I'm still paying on a car i don't have.

  2. I wouldn't cosign a car for my daughter  if she called me "stupid" either.

Show some respect, and maybe you will be respected.

    You don't deserve a car.

  3. You're obviously financially capable.  You probably don't need your Mom.

Your Mom probably doesn't want to get stuck with the payments when you default.  Can't blame her for that can you?

Lets suppose you crack up the car (I know you never would...but just suppose).  You've got insurance payments...which are like huge...and now you have to pay the deductable...or better yet you get one of those cheapo policies that doesn't cover collision.  So now you don't have a car.  Why pay? Then you don't.  Your Mom has to.

Step right out there.  Buy it yourself.

  4. Go buy a cheap, used car for like under $1000. You should NEVER, EVER finance a car even if you can afford it, because a car's value depreciates so quickly it's insane! Financing a car is one of the worst financial decisions anybody can ever make! It's a guaranteed loss!

Seriously, the best thing to do when buying a car is just pay for all of it right away. Just save up your money and buy something cheap-o. As long as it runs well and is reliable, that's what matters. If you can afford to finance a car for 6-10k, then you can afford to save up your money for like 3 or 4 months and you'll have enough to buy a reliable, cheap-o used car without financing anything.

NEVER finance a car! That's like one of the biggest financial mistakes people make in America. I'm not joking, dude. I'm smart enough to know the numbers and how they work out. I know you don't know me from Adam, but just trust me on this. You're better off just buying something cheap, reliable, and pre-owned.

  5. at 17 you want to FINANCE a car???? Dumb idea. You can't anyway, you're under age. Unless it's a shady, illegal deal. And have you considered the cost to maintain the car. It's not just about making the payments and you're all set. The is also sales tax, which, by the way, from the price range you gave, is a lot of money, and has to be paid all at once. Than there is insurance, repairs (if any) than the cost of inspection.  And... do you realize if you miss even 1 payment, it can severely mess up your mom's credit? At 17, you don't need a new car, or even one that's a few years old. Be realistic. get a job, save the money and buy one outright. That's probably your best and only option.

And you're mom is SMART for not co-signing. It could get her into serious trouble.

  6. You think your mom is stupid?  HAHAHAHAHAHHAAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHAAHAHAHHAHHA...

    (whew).

While you know everything, it should be easy for you to get a really high-paying job. Maybe for NASA, or maybe some big company will make you CEO while you have all the answers.

  7. Your mom has known you for 17 yrs and she knows you are not responsible enough to make the payments and doesn't want to be stuck paying for it. She probably thinks your a STUPID KID. Grow up and start walking...................UJN

  8. Your mom can't co-sign for you, she has to be the primary on the loan.  And would you just obligate yourself to someone elses debt.  That affects her credit.

  9. The only real choices are find someone else to cosign IF and it is a big IF anyone wll sell to you at under 18 or get a ob and save all you can till you can pay cash.   BTW your mom may be smarter than you think just looking at factors like what if the money to pay isn't there one month and she is obligated for the whole thing what if the car gets wrecked and loss is greater than insurance pays which happened to me even w/ full coverage.  Loan ppl and insurance can go around you and settle and then come back at you for the difference.

Another possibility is to get a car now that costs whatever you have to pay down on this $6000-10000 car,use it till you are old enough and have work hostoryb and credit,to get one financed on your own.

  10. >>  But my mom is stupid

The apple don't fall far from the tree.

    Good Luck...

  11. Don't say wait until your 18?  You do realize people can't enter into a contract with anybody under 18, right?  So go pay cash, it's the only way for you until you turn 18.

  12. If you just trying to get a car, any car with out a cosigner then try craigslist?

  13. Yea, join the USARMY, and be your own PLAYER...........
