  1. Not at all. Folks in America love people from other countries. As long as you speak English, you should have no trouble at all.

  2. What do you mean Italians are quite hated? By whom? Seriously? Where did you hear that? Most people in the US will view you as exotic and sophisticated because you're Italian, instead of hating you because you're Italian. I'm sorry you have that image of the US. People here are very open to Europeans.

  3. italians are not hated at all! one of my bff's (best friend forever) in high school was italian. She was great. any way, you may have a hard time with some lingo....

    tight, sick, cool= good words

just things like that.... you'll get used to it.

  4. what are you talking about, man!?

    everyone LOVES Italians!

    PIZZA! man! LASAGNA!

  5. i dont think of italians as hated at all ... I went to Italy and i LOVED it there . The people are sooo nice.

Just be friendly and nice to everyone .. you'll fit in somewhere at school .. there are tons of different people in highschool !

  6. I've never heard of Italians being hated. It depends what school you go to and where it is located. Most US schools you will fit in perfectly if you know enough english, which I can tell you do. You'll be fine! Good-luck =)

  7. Americans don't hate Italians, the people they hate the most are people from the middle east. But you will be just fine.

  8. Most likely not. It depends on what city you are moving to. If its not some back water hick town then most likely you will have girls dropping at your feet to get to know you.

  9. Naaaaaaaaaa lol they dont even care theres too many different ethnicities for them to focus on just 1 theres probably loads of more italians there no worries

  10. Where in the USA are you moving? You'll probably feel most welcome in a diverse area where people are used to seeing people from other countries. I've never heard much anti-Italian sentiment anywhere, though. You won't be hated for your nationality, but you might be treated as a curiosity or an outsider if you're moving to a less tolerant area of the country. On the other hand, you're just as likely to be seen as cool and interesting.

By age 17 I think most reasonable people are mature enough to not judge you for something so arbitrary, though. I think you'll be fine.

  11. i have never heard of that... why do you think people have problems with Italians?

i live in southern california and actually just graduated (yay)

but last year we had a foreign exchange student from france and people were so curious about him that he was always surrounded by people

  12. Of course, it may be different depending on the state you are moving to.  But for the most part I don't think you should have any problems.

I live in Memphis, TN, and we have a very large Italian community, and have a huge Italian festival every year.  And everyone gets along just fine.

You'll probably be very well liked at school because you can speak so many languages.  If you join an Italian language club you should be able to meet lots of friends and find out the nicest places to "hang out" where you will feel at home and be totally accepted.

May you have a very blessed experience in America.  I, for one, am very happy that you will coming to our great country.

Enjoy yourself and I think you'll do great!

  13. nah. new kids don't have problems. all the kids will probably be fascinated with you, to tell you the truth. you will probably become really popular. they wont hate you unless you give them a good reason to.

  14. no. everyone at my school loves foreign exhange ppl. they actually quickly become the most popular ppl. we had two german guys come to our school my german year and everyone loved them! they went to every party and got lots of girls haha. no lie. so just, when u get here, talk to ppl. let them no who you are. dont be too shy, and just be yourself. =]

  15. Italians are hated? That's news to me. You'll be fine! A lot of Americans love Europeans! You seem to be able to speak good English, so that should help.

  16. ahahha actually you wont have a problem BECUZ you ARE Italian.  You will be loved by the ladies, be prepared..I mean it.

  17. no. you will probly be asked alot of question because people would want to no about italy but thats it. a school is a school any were.

  18. Italians are far from hated in the US, if you are moving to the east coast you will find a large population of Americans of Italian decent.  Where are you moving to?

  19. no.maybe differnt skewl work .but if your hated at your  new skewl don't listen to them but you'll do fine.Good luck at your new skewl!

  20. Why are italians hated?? i think youll have fun.. meet lots of people.. we have foreign exchange students come to our schools all the time, they usually become very popular... lots of people are very curious how life is in another country, and want to ask some questions :)

  21. as long as you don't say your italian until later. just kidding, it doesn't matter, just because you italian doesn't mean you have to be hated. be nice and at least one person will like you.

  22. i don't think going into a school thinking italians are hated is the best way to go. walk in with confidence. not all americans judge people harshly. i believe you'll be fine. hold your head high and great things will happen to you.

    good luck :)

  23. You wont be hated. Let me give you sum advice. Make friends wit the cool blk kids. If you make friends wit the cool blk kids, no 1 will bother u. After you have donr that, make friends with pthers. Be your self and smile alot. Good luck!

  24. No I wouldn't say so. Teenagers aren't really racist against Italians. I think you'll do ok. If you were going to my school I'd be super excited that you were there and like be your friend! lol Good luck though because that could be kind of scary I suppose... You'll do great!

  25. I doubt it. I never heard of anyone being prejudice against Italian people in USA in modern times. In history class, I learned when the first immigrants came to America there were some issues. Today and for at least a generation or two, folks are proud to be Italian, as far as I've seen.

  26. Italians are not hated in America.  People will probably ask you a lot of questions because they are curious about people from other countries.  People will love your accent.  You should be fine.  You can learn something new living here and others can learn something from you.
