Hey,

Right.. I know people always go to America for a Year or so, and have some form of Education over there..

I could really do with some help, and advice on how I could do this..

How much would it cost, where is the best place for a Brit, maybe wanting to study IT and Computers.

Would I be aloud to part-time work whilst over there.. How long does it take to 'arrange'. ETC.

Or, could someone point me into a right direction, I.E. some website!

Also, because I want to move to America, ASAP (I don't wanna settle into this Country) if I'd have been in America for a Year or something, would it be easier for me to Move and Live in America?

Thanks a lot!

  1. You need a F-1 student visa before you can enter the country as a student. As far as I know you will only be able to work on campus which usually doesn't pay very well. A good area for IT is silicon valley.

If you go to a junior college first before a 4 year you can save money on tuition. At a junior college you can take lower division classes and then transfer to a 4 year after about 2 years. You may also want to bring your transcripts as some of your classes may transfer over or at-least fulfill a prerequisite for one of the classes you need to take.

I went to Foothill college in Los altos and then transfered to San Diego State university. I studied Information Systems. For the application process contact the school you are interested in directly.

  2. You'd have to apply for a student visa.

Yes, you can get hired part time with that in mind.

America is probably either not very different, or a whole new world from where you come from.

    Good luck!
