I'm 18, i wrote this poem. It's kinda depressing, but is it any good? Be honest please!!?

Hey guys,

I'm 18 and i just wrote this poem, what do you think?

Like i said, i know it's depressing..but is it any good??

"Sitting in my room,

The blade is in my hand.

I try to cut away the pain,

No one ever understands.

What it’s like to hurt this much,

How it hurts to even breathe.

You try to ask for help,

But no one ever sees.

What it’s like to be alone,

With no one by your side;

It’s easier to run away,

To lock away yourself and hide.

But the pain has gotten worse,

You just want it to subside.

So you take the knife,

And find release,

Try to kill the hurt inside.

Your heart grows weaker,

As you stumble out the door.

Everything just keeps on hurting,

And you can’t fight it anymore.

So you stand outside

In the pouring rain.

With your heart ripped wide open,

One last attempt to drown the pain.

I honestly think that the poem is very good. Yes it is kinda depressing but I think it is good.

i like this poem....but at the beginning you were using "I" and then you started using "you"...still i think the poem is good

Not unlike a lot of poems about suicide but still very good. Tears at the heart strings.

Its really good... it kind of sounds like alot of other poems ive heard but there was something about it that just stood out... hopefully this poem isnt really who you are though! Try ad get it published, who knows what might happen? But if you get rejected, dont let it get to you. most of the best poets of the world had to face rejection, and you just have to accept it. On a scale of one-ten i'd give it an 8... great job!!!!
