lots of money NYC is very expensive. apts/flats in good neighborhoods can cost amore than $2000 american dollars a month if not more. even the rents in bad neighborhoods are expensive these days. i say save lots of money before you make your decision.

Why do you want to move there? It is very expensive and you won't get to stay for long  as a visitor. Obviously if you want to stay for a long while you will need a job, for which you need a green card. These are not easy to come by and immigration gave you jumping through hoops to get one. You could stay a while [year] as a student. You would need to enroll in a course and attend! That also needs money as students there have to pay all their fees - not like in the UK. You need to look into this a lot closer.
