I'm 20 and want to work in either Australia for 6 months or so, need advice please !

Question

Hi, I'm 20 and live in the UK and am interested to travelling to Australia before I lose my youth lol I really don't know where to start but would generally like to work in Australia for 6 months or so to experience the culture. Has anybody experienced this sort of trip to Australia? I have got plenty of experience of bar work and working in an office if that would help finding work, but generally just want to know how to get started

Firstly have a look at this website:

It will tell you how to apply for the work visa you need and how much it will cost.

Secondly when you get there stay in a hostel.  Have a look at:

www.hostelworld.com

READ the reviews of the hostels on there as there as some are good and some are really really bad ones.  I stayed in some terrible ones.  Some of the best hostels I stayed in can be found here:

In terms of work....when you get to Oz you'll see a lot of the hostels have notice boards where jobs are posted but the best bet is to register with tons of employment agencies and see what they can get you....doing a walk round of local shops and businesses and looking for Staff Wanted signs is also a good idea.
