Yes. I know I'm old. But I've always been a busy person. Since I was 16 I've been taking classes in the morning, working in the afternoon and then classes again at night. Anyways, how would I go about it? Do I need to do Driver's Ed? Thanks.

  1. I think over 18 they do not require the class.

  2. yer over 18 so just call the dmv and set up an appointment. make sure u have all the correct paper work or else they wont let u do it b/c they are all @ss holes at the dmv. also u might wanna make sure u c an drive a car before u take the test. just practice w/ friends car, i wouldnt bother taking a class. waste of time

  3. You don't have to have the learner's permit if you are over 18. You'll need to get your birth certificate, social security, and any important documents, go to the DMV, and tell them you need to know what is required to get your license, and make sure you let them know you are 20, otherwise they may put you in a a driver's ed class.

  4. (1) go to DMV and pick up driver manual

    (2) study

    (3) go back and take the written test - pass

    (4) with the learner's permit practice driving

    (5) you might have to take the 5 hour class

    (6) take the road test - pass

    (7) be happy.

    Good Luck...

P.S.  Driver's ed is for kids under 18.

P.P.S.  you are old ???  I'm 45 and everybody at 20 seem like just kiddies (in a nice way).

  5. hey there..I am 26 (yup!!waaaay older than u..)and im scheduled to take the driving test this month. I am from California, and what i did was, I got the driving handbook from DMV, read it, took the written test(on another day-you can just walk in or make an appointment to take the written test)....and then enrolled in a driving school. So far I had 3 sessions (2 hrs of driving each) and as I mentioned above, I am scheduled to take the actual driving test this month. I did NOT attend any Driver's Ed classes...

Goodluck! I hope this lil info will help u....

  6. Only take drivers ed if you think you need it. For me I paid for a few classes on manuerability (parrallel parking) to brush up my skills. Get your permit from the DMV take the written test then practice and take the road test.
