  1. NO!....well depends if you want to be a private pilot or if you want to work for a commercial airliner....if you already havea college degree than its not too late. But if you want to be a pilot for fun as a hobby..go for it!!

  2. nah, most airlines hire at 21!! which means you'll be fine!! I know a guy who started training at 45, and he went all the way through commercial.

  3. 20 is definitely not too late to start your training to become a pilot. During my training, a number of my classmates were in their late 20s or early 30s. I've heard of a number people who change careers in their late 30s and early 40s who still become successful pilots.

When I first starting flying for a living, most of my other co-workers just starting out were in their mid 20s.

The thing to keep in mind when starting out in the aviation industry is that, in Canada at least, it's going to be at least 5-10 years after you're done your training until you have the experience to be hired an airline. These first few years can be quite challenging, relatively low paying and may involve moving around quite a bit.  They can also be the most fun though! I've got some great stories from when I first started out.

    Good Luck!

  4. yr not too old, since worldwide there is a short on pilots you would still have all the chance to get a carreer as a pilot, coming to 27 and older it will be tricky. so GO for it. wish you good luck and maybe will meet you on schiphol airport one day

  5. no its never to late for anything????

  6. Never! I've heard of many pilots who began flying after 50!

  7. Hello my friend, well im 23 and im going to be a commercial airline pilot, but its going to take me along time, but its still not too late for me, the route im going down is:

    Taking 5 gcse's at a night school.

Going on take 2 A levels after that.

Complete my PPL training (paying for course out of my own cash)

Go for my medical class 1

Save up 25% of the £60,000 bond to undertake my IR and ATPL,

Search for a sponser with help from someone like Cabair or CTC,

    Complete training

Become a cadet for an airline

Gain hours 200 hours + minimum flying,

    Apply for work & jobs

BELEIVE ME THIS CAN BE DONE!!!!!

Please make sure that you undergo the JAR CLASS 2 medical before paying for ppl flying lessons, if you fail this then you cant fly and you would of wasted all that money, and remember that the CLASS 1 license is so much stricter and more advanced than the CLASS 2, and it cost £400!

Also make sure that you have the minimum 5 gcse's and two A levels, as most or if not all airlines require this as a minimum, most flight schools require this too as you need to show a high level of understanding in physics, mathematics and geography to be able to understand the lessons, and most commercial airline training companies require £50,000 to £60,000 in the form of a bond to train, to get help with these costs you need to have excellent financial circumstances for a bank or lender to borrow you the money to train, alot of airlines now have a cadet scheme which requires you to have this bond, and a good upfront payment to this bond is usually required as it shows your commitment to the training!

Good luck, i need it too!

  8. Never!  You are never to old to do anything you want to do in life ...

Unless it's a child star or something like that.  :/

    Go for it!  Good luck!!

  9. It'll  probably be too late if you want to be a military pilot. Unless your academics are stellar. As far as privat/professional pilot, you're never too late. Go for it.

  10. 65 is too old to be a pilot. You still have 45 years to go.

  11. h**l no.

  12. No, in fact, you might be too young.
