  1. Not at all. Many wait until their 20s to enlist. Don't sweat it and good luck.

  2. The age limit for enlisting in the Marines is 29, so until you pass that, you're not too old. I doubt you're going to be the oldest person there. How does one look like a loser? No one who truly wants to become a Marine and gives it his all is a loser, regardless to their age. You're only a loser if you allow something as irrelevant as your age limit you.

  3. I think you have alot of other things to worry about..And I doubt your gonna scan the ranks to see who is older then who as to label them a loser..

Your part of a team now and your age will not be an issue unless you make it an issue.

If you think 21 years is old then your in for a long life.

  4. Your not too old. 21 is the average age for the Marines, Army, Navy, and Air Force, but buddy, get ready, because you are going into h**l. It isn't a fish fry or picnic. The best advice i can give you at this point is get out and start running as much as possible between now and when you go in. Good luck,

  5. Absolutely not.  People join at many different ages for many different reasons. Unless you have lived your last 3 years as a teenager instead of as an adult, you will have more maturity and experiences that will help you to excel in the marines.  Good luck.

  6. Not at all.  There will be plenty of others older than you.  Good luck.

  7. You will be among the older guys, but you will not be the oldest at the camp. The average Marine enlists at 18 or 19. The official age limit for active duty USMC is 28 and for reserves is 29. The Marines takes younger enlistees than all the other branches. There will be a significant number of people your exact age and a significant number of people who are various older ages.

As an officer I'd be happier to see older, more mature Marines to lead into mature situations. I'm sure team leaders feel the same way (they are usually 24-28).

Yes you will be older than the average guy, but, as I said, you won't be the olderst. Further, your age will be appreciated.

No one will think you're a loser and, if you handle yourself correctly, people at your same rank will think very highly of you leading you to leadership opportunities.

Of course, I assume you are talking about the USMC. The Royal Marines generally have an intake of enlistees who are about your age or much older and few young men can handle the selection. The USMC boot is partially a weeding process, but mostly a building process. RMC boot is a weeding process -those guys are in their mid twenties and big.

  8. yea.ur kinda old.most of em are still 16

  9. no

  10. None of them are 16, you need a parental waiver to enlist at 17, which is the youngest age.

I was actually 21 when I enlisted, but there was a gal there that was 27 and one or two that were 22 and 23. Trust me, you're all scrambling around to appease the DI's that you don't have time to look like a loser. You ALL smell, you ALL are hungry, you ALL are tired, you ALL are unhappy...heck, you ALL feel like losers!

  11. No the oldest is like 30 i think well thats for Royal Marines i take it your talking about USMC? i still dont think thts too old

    gd luck :D

  12. I wouldn't be too concerned with how you'd think you'll look since you'll have much more pressing concerns than worrying about that. No, I've had friends in their mid-20's go to boot camp. h**l, in my PLC class I was 4th or 5th oldest in a platoon of more than 50 candidates...so what?

Trust me, all it means is more life experience.

    Good luck, Recruit.

"You ALL smell, you ALL are hungry, you ALL are tired, you ALL are unhappy...heck, you ALL feel like losers!" This is something I should have probably thrown in, ha-ha. It's true, everyone will be too busy trying to help each other to care about much else.

  13. you will be fine

    I went in at 20 +
