I'm 42  and I have had trouble with those terms also..I finally decided to memorize it as baloney(fiction) and non-baloney (non-fiction)!!

factual story : a dufus gets on line + asks for a factual story cuz he can't figure out what's fiction + non-fiction . this is a true and factual story , it would be non-fiction . do you get it now ???

A factual story is non Fiction  prose writing that is informative or factual rather than fictional

It might help to remember that FACT is something which
