If you are on good terms with a parent, guardian or other that has money. It is possible to use an asset of theirs to secure the loan, i.e. if you dont pay they take X property and get the money they require. I would recommend only going to a recognised bank for something like this, but it should help you get around the bad credit issue.

Yep.  Car loans are easy.  I'm not sure they care about your credit but you better realize two things, you will have high interest and if you aren't paying up your car will be GONE.

Get on track and start building your credit.  Make sure that bills are paid ON TIME and get anything removed from your credit record as soon as it can be in your area.

You can get a secured credit card and pay on time to improve your credit history.  Secured means you pay the amount of the credit limit to be held as security for a year--make sure the card use is being reported to agencies that track credit info.  If you've done well, the security money is returned to you and you are on your own.  BUT DON'T goof up!  Clear your credit FIRST before you spend on other stuff.  Credit is NOT extra money.  It'll cost you unless you pay in full and on time, and only  if you have a no fee card.  And NEVER go over limit.  This can be very very  COSTLY.

How do you know you still have "bad credit"?  Have you looked at your credit report and score?  Yes, 18 is still within the seven year limit so it's possible that problems are still showing up.

If you need transportation "ASAP", what are your other alternatives?  Car pooling?  Public transportation?  A bicycle?

Lots of folks in the US get the "gotta have a car" notion in their heads because here in the US we've got a love affair going with automobiles.  We don't even think about other ways of getting around, and there are lots of them (at one point, I rode a skateboard several miles to work).

If you can put off a car purchase for that one more year to be sure the "bad" items have cleared your credit report, that'll give you enough time to save up for a car and then pay cash for it or at least put down a sizeable down-payment.

go to a non profit credit solutions place.. google it. Or request your credit report for free from Experian and then one by one see if you can remove them.

If the bad credit is legitimate it will be very hard to get the credit agencies to remove the items.  However, auto loans are by far the easiest loans to get, even with bad credit.  The main thing you will need to get a loan for a car is down payment (try to have 10% down or close to it) and a steady job.  Avoid the "buy here, pay here" car lots.  If you have $1500 you should be able to get a cheaper new vehicle.  I know KIA motors have good programs for bad credit.  Capital One auto finance also has some good programs.

well if you don't have recent collection accounts then you can buy car with high interest rate like 15% or 16% of course you need to have certain amount of income. After a year you can refinance your car to lower the APR. There are places approve bad credit, just look.

I recently bought car myself with bad credit, high interest sucks but it the price i had to pay for having bad credit.
