  1. You are never too old to do anything. If you have the determination, ambition & ability I can't see why not.  Of course it takes years & years of training & hard work.  If you really want something like that you must compete & work your way up through the elimination process.  You will never know how you'll do unless you try.  GL.

  2. yes way 2 old ur bones arnt as flexible as when u were younger succesfull  gymnists start as early as 6

  3. Do you mean to start out or compete? Yang Wei just won the gold medal in the men's all around and he is 28 years old it's never to late to do something you want. =)

  4. Learning new skills should be about having fun!

What is good is subjective. You won't make the olympic team if that's what you mean.

  5. way too old, these gymnasts start when very young, 5/6 years of age, seen some even younger.

Joi     the chinese gymnast has been doing it since he was a tot i would think, he didnt just take up the sport at age 28.

  6. I'm sorry but as a gymnast of 19 years now, you are too old to start this sport. Those of us who make it to a highly competitive level are the ones that started at about 3 years of age. At your age, most of us have retired and moved on to our families and careers.

You can by all means find a local gym to go into that has adult classes (not all gyms do, due to the high insurance costs) and have some fun messing around. But as far as looking impressive (this really is subjective too) that wont happen. You may be able to get a few flips or some other smaller skills, but as it is just too late in the game to get into it.

This should be a good excuse for you to have your kids (or future kids) get into the sport though. It truly is an amazing sport even if it takes a toll on the body; I do not regret any of the countless days I have spent training over the years.
