I have been experiencing menstrual-like cramps for a little over a week now. At my 28-week check-up 3 days ago, my OB told me not to worry because it sounded like Braxton Hicks. It's a constant cramping, does not come in waves. Sometimes I also have some cramps in the upper sides of my abdomen. I am a 1st time mom. Is this normal? I have been drinking lots of water and when I am not at work I lay on my left side, but during the day at work is the worst. I also tried wearing a pregnancy support belt today, which is helping because the pain is not as bad but I feel like it's so tight that I am not feeling the pain as I would if it was not on. Please give me some advice on how to deal with the cramps. Thank you!

  1. visit the doc

  2. Call your doctor again.  Let him/her know that the cramping is not getting better and you want to know how to deal with it and double check that it is not serious.  That's why you have a doctor so never be afraid to call them for anything!  They work for you, remember.

  3. I would call your doctor, just to be sure, but speaking for myself, I had weird cramps at different points all throughout my pregnancy, especially in the last trimester.. Everyone is different, and everyone handles their pregnancy differently.. Some people breeze through it with nothing out of the ordinary, other people, like me, have a little harder time.. With weird aches and pains and.. well.. cramps..

Try not to worry or stress..  Just go see your doctor to be sure.. But seriously, unless you are bleeding, you are probably alright.
