Any ideas on where to look?

I'm for the most part a weakling so I think the military is out (for both our sakes) And I already have a full time job I'd like to keep. What are my options?

  1. Try the civil air patrol.  They offer training.  You can assist with disasters or searches.

  2. Research 9/11.

  3. There are so many things that you can do right in your local community including grass roots campaigning, helping at the boys and girls club, help building a habitat for humanity house, work at the local food shelter, and the list goes on and on.

  4. Volunteer at local school or any community center/nonprofit.

you don't have to make a 'big splash' to make a huge difference.

sometimes being a 'pebble-in-a-pond' may have positive 'rippling' effect.

  5. Look into joining the coast guard.

  6. The national guard is always looking for new members, as are dozens of other organizations. If you really wanted to make a difference on a local level, find out when the salvation army in your community is doing X-mas and Thanksgiving dinner and arrange to be apart of that. I've done that for a few years and the people who come are genuinely grateful for the food (for many of them it's the first hot meal they've eaten in days).

  7. There are numerous things you could start to do:

Volunteer at a food bank and give food out to the low income

    Contact local churchs and volunteer

Donate to charties, they help our country

  8. Run for some kind of public office.  Even school board would be a start.
