  1. Sharing clubs may not be such a good idea unless you and your friend are about the same height, because what clubs may fit her swing might not fit yours. Go to a good local golf pro shop and tell them you are looking to start playing golf, and ask them if the do fittings. As with clothes ,you better make sure it(the golf clubs) fits your height. But hey sometimes you get lucky and find a perfect fit right off the rack. Better to fitted properly and enjoy the game, than to get a grab bag of clubs and hate playing.

  2. Question, this set of clubs that you and your friend is sharing is her own personal clubs? its best to have your own club to play with rather sharing, the reason is your height, how the clubs is fitted for her swing and not yours. this will cause you more problem trying to swing a club that is not fitted for you and playing abilities.

Ask the local pro at the driving range and tell him/her that you want to take up golf and you're a beginner and you need be fitted for clubs and take a few lessons from the pro golf instructor as well. This way you can good ideal how to hold the club, set up, back swing and forward swing. they can see something that you're friend can't. So its best for you to inculde a 2 to 3 lessons while you're at it. And you have fun!!

    Good luck.

  3. DON'T LISTEN TO PAUL... IF YOU ARE JUST STARTING OUT AND DON'T KNOW IF YOU WILL ENJOY THE GAME, BUY A STARTER SET OF CLUBS AT SOME PLACE LIKE WAL-MART... A LADIES SET FOR SMALLER WOMEN ,(IT WILL TELL YOU ON THE BOX) IF YOU CAN AFFORD LESSONS, THEN GO FOR IT, IF NOT READ ABOUT HOW TO PLAY OR GET A VIDEO... START SLOW, GOLF IS A TOUGH GAME TO LEARN AND MOST PEOPLE GET PISSED AND GIVE IT UP... HAVE FUN WITH IT AND REMEMBER TO PLAY FOR THE HEALTH AND ENJOYMENT... "HIT 'EM STRAIGHT"

  4. It doesn't matter if you are 5' 2" or 7'2" if your arms are in proportion to your body a standard size set of clubs will be fine.  On the other hand even though you are only 5'2", if your arms are short you will need longer than normal clubs and if your arms are long you would need shorter clubs.

  5. you should definetley look into ladies clubs if you do get regular size clubs they will have to cut down for you which could cost more. or if your club pro could properly fit you it could be better for you and your golf game

  6. hey i am 5'2" also and played college golf

buy a used cheap set but get it fitted for free to both of you.

used quality clubs are better than new crappy ones once they have new grips etc.

  7. at that height you definetly wan to get fitted. Look into Callaway clubs very helpfull for beginners. Good Luck
