We just can't afford to have a child right now and we don't have the room in our house ( 1 bedroom). We want to wait until we add onto our house and yet that seems a good 3 to 5 yrs down the road. 3 to 5 yrs down the road I will be 35 to 37 and I don't think I want to be that old and begin parenthood. So how do you get over something you want so badly in life and you can't have. And how do you get over without going into a depression over it and bringing your husband down with you.

  1. Just have it and maybe the government will help. If you wait until you can afford it you never will.

Although I think with the state of the economy it would be very selfish and in-planned to bring a child into the world as it is today.

  2. We are about to have our 4th child in 5yrs and our household income is 45k.  We have a 5bedroom house but we all end up sleeping in the same bed most of the time.

Money and room comes if you want a child bad enough.  They are def. worth every sacrifice, so much so that the sacrifice doesn't even seem like one anymore.

Good luck getting pregnant in your late 30's.  There are plenty of 20yr olds that are really struggling.

    EDIT:

You prob. will regret it your whole life, especially in your old age when no one comes to visit you.  I'm not trying to be harsh I just think people don't think things through.  They think about how they might feel NOW as oppose to 30yrs from now.

Talk to your hubby and if you can both sacrifice a bit maybe this is the time.

  3. Honestly consider getting a pet, whether it's a gold fish, hamster, parrot, dog or cat (if you can have one in your apt) that should handle your need to be maternal (finding meaning in life through caring for someone). If not a pet go volunteer at your local old folks home, they can be like children after all lol. And most of all have discipline, if in the future you do decide to have children I advise you to adopt; you can change the life of a child.
