My eye doctor said that if 20/20 was a 0 then I'm +1 in one eye and -1 in the other. Plus I have an astigmatism in both eyes. I have major night blindness and have trouble seeing street signs during the day until I'm right in front of them. I've been wearing them to watch tv for two days and tonight was the first time I used them with my computer. My eyes feel strained and are burning. When I move the glasses away from my eyes the small characters on the screen seem faded and smaller and the glasses make them sharper and more clear.. so I'm wondering why my eyes are burning? And the burning makes the print blurry.

Also, I paid $300 for the glasses/lens and have heard that most places will not exchange glasses if you're not comfortable with them. My lenses touch my lashes when I'm wearing mascara and when I lower them down the bridge of my nose they seem too low - cutting off my vision. Sorry so many questions... but is it normal to feel like everything is so "off"?

  1. takem back  u should tell them ur havin issues.

  2. First, if they are your first pair, you need to put them on first thing in the morning, your brain and eyes will adapt easier in the morning when they haven't been straining to see all day. Most doctors will do a re-check if they still aren't comfortable (vision wise) after a couple days of wearing them all day. Most companies will fix the vision problem if your doctor changes your prescription (I have not heard nor worked for any company or doctor who wouldn't try to fix the problem).

As far as the glasses hitting your eyelashes, your optician (the one who helped you select the frames, talked to you about lens options, and fit your glasses originally) can help adjust them so they sit higher and further away from your face. Don't give up on your glasses nor the place you purchased them just yet! Put them on in the morning and in the afternoon have them adjusted properly. Just to let you know, my Rx has been the same for several years and every time I get a new pair it takes me a couple days to get used to them.

Also- night driving. Do you have the anti-reflective coating on your lenses? That will help decrease the glare at night, especially off of on coming head lights. Ask your optician about it, they can tell you if you have it and if you don't, how you can get it!
