I'm 34 weeks and 4 days pregnant and my Dr told me today that my cervix is softening and the head is coming?

down! What does that mean as far as a time line goes? Am i getting close?

You might be getting close, but My cervix started to soften when I was 28 weeks. I am now 37 weeks and nothing has happened. Some people progress fast than others.Until you are dilated or your water breaks or contractions I think you are safe.. Good luck and Congrats!!

your getting closer but you cant estimate a time line.  are you dialated at all?  i was dialated and was soft for 3 weeks before I had my baby.

i also am 34 weeks and x-amount of days.. (might be 4 too!! lol)

but i have an apt on tuesday and the dr will look to see how my cervix looks, however everyone keeps telling me i look like i can go in any time now. and i feel like i can go in any day! i actually can feel the baby more lower than usual. and i feel like everyday my belly is dropping more and more! i am just starting to feel like i will go in early!!!

but in all reality, it is going to be up to the baby- you could go to your next apt and the dr. can say you are 2 cm. and you can stay those 2 cm until your due date!!!  again, its up to baby!!

if you get contractions and they are exactly 1 min. apart, go to the dr. its probably time!! or if your water breaks-- head there too!! :D

Sorry to say it doesn't tell us very much because it could take weeks of more waiting...
