I'm 34 weeks pregnant and want to know if braxton hicks feel as though you've had the wind knocked out of you?

yes. they can vary from back pain to what you are describing to cramp like feelings that are not much different from real labor. Dont worry about it as long as they stop within an hour after you drink some water or lay down.  also try a warm bath. if they continue then call your doc.
