  1. i just took Tums too. And sometimes pepto. Milk is a bad idea.  The stomach has to work extra hard to break down lactate in the milk.

At least for me, it's a bad idea.

  2. Gaviscon, Gaviscon, Gaviscon!!! Ive had it too so i know how you feel! Try to avoid fizzy drinks. Im not sure what else you can do but i'll be reading through the rest of your answers to gets some tips myself, good luck x*x

  3. My mom eats crystalized ginger to help with indegestion. Also you can get digestive enzymes that come in caplets and you take them before you eat to help your body digest food faster, just check to make sure its okay when pregnant.

  4. drink a very cold glass of milk. It really helps me. I am also 37 weeks and has suffered allot  throughout my pregnancy. drink entire glass without stopping.

    feel better

  5. I always had a huge bottle of gaviscon (the cool spearmint flavour) and some gastrocote tablets from my midwife, they helped A LOT!

    good luck =)

  6. Tums...try eating a little less each meal, but eat snacks in between...its baby pushing on things.  There is also an old wives tale that says that the more heartburn you have the more hair baby is going to have.  I had heartburn that could knock over an elephant...my son was born with a whole head of blonde hair.

  7. Sounds more like reflux, where acid escapes your tummy and goes into the food pipe which causes a burning sensation. unfortunately it will only go when the baby is born as it's the pressure of the baby that causes the problem. try to avoid acidic food like curries, tomatoes, cucumber and maybe try sip of milk. try sleeping slightly propped up too.

  8. i think its just the pressure from the baby pushing on your stomach that cuases it. i had pretty bad indigestion when pregnant too and here are a few things that i found really helped:

    - gaviscon! amazing stuff

    - make sure you're not slouching when sitting (or standing). i would try my hardest to sit straight but would usually slouch again after a few minutes because it's hard sitting straight with a big belly. it really helped though.

    - get an extra pillow or two under your head at night.

    - don't eat late at night as this will make it worse.

    - eat small meals. i once ate too much pizza and got so sick when i went to bed (i only did that once). eat little and often.

    - when you've tried all of this and nothing is really helping, eating a little yogurt is wonderful. it just cools everything down and it makes you feel better for a few minutes at least.

    best of luck!

  9. you need to get a ct scan from your doctor
