  1. You should ask your doctor of course, but I believe it's safe to take otc medications like Pepcid.

  2. I really sympathise with you, i had this and it's terrible.

I used to drink as much milk as i could.  Take gaviscon whenever needed.  Sleep on lots of pillows so you are slightly raised.

  3. Since you're pregnant, it may not be safe to take anti-nausea tablets. You may be suffering from it so often because of all the hormones at work in your body! I did some research, and came up with these helpful tips:

Try eating smaller meals a few times during the day rather than one or two big meals

Sit up straight when eating as this will take the strain off your stomach

    Avoid spicy or fried foods

Sleep well propped up; use lots of pillows on your bed

Drink plenty of milk and always keep a glass nearby in case you wake up with heartburn during the night

Don't eat or drink before you go to bed

Don't take antacid tablets before checking whether they are safe during pregnancy

    Reduce concentrated sugars and fats

Eat more complex carbohydrates such as breads, cereals, pasta, rice and whole bran

I'm not an expert, so try checking with your doctor!

  4. you poor dear!  hang in there, it's so very worth it once you're holding your little one in your arms.

But till then, try eating tiny "bites" about 6-10 times a day instead of three "meals."  There's next to no room in your stomach with baby as big as he/she is and so it's backing up into your esophagus and giving you indigestion/heart burn. Eat little meals often rather than "normal" meals, and you'll help eliminate the pain.  Ask you doctor what you can take  -- peppermint worked for me, but yours sounds worse than mine.

  5. Tums help A LOT!!

  6. tums is a must

    try milk

try an apple i know a few ppl that swear by the apple

  7. I was the same right untill I gave birth at 34 weeks ask your mw for malox (ithink that is how you spell it)  you will get it free too, helps very mutch.

Good luck, I hope things go well

  8. your GP can prescribe something - mine gave me Peptac which is like Gaviscon only thicker. It's mainly a matter of finding what medications work for you and what foods set you off. I like Remegel, which is chewy rather than chalky. There's also Gaviscon (in 2 flavours, also available as a tablet), rennies (again, in 2 flavours, and a chewy version is avaiable), zantac, rap-eze, and several more. Try them out and see how you get on.

Also, you should try keeping a food diary to find out what sets you off the most. I find onions make me really bad plus anything particularly acidic or sweet. The baby should engage into your pelvis soon which should provide some relief from heartburn. You don't have long left to go though!
