  1. your never too old I'm 49 and have a honda cb1100f  crotch rocket my grandkids love it ill ride a sports bike till i cant no more like they say your only has old as you think you are ride it and have fun

  2. Seventy-four years young, riding fifty-six years, ride a moded Kaw ZX11, cam, dual ram air, etc.

    Tomcotexas.

  3. 38? I have boots older than you....

Age is not a factor. Experience is. As a new rider, don't go for the fastest bike you can afford - start small and practice. A sportbike will be a great second bike.

    Young kids today!

  4. h**l no! riding is a way of life! enjoy it always! just make sure the sport bike you get is something you can handle...

  5. I am also 38 and ride a YZF1000R 1997 Thunderace...I couldn't swap it for a cruiser if I wanted to, it would be out of the garage for about two minutes before i was looking for another one. My lady Friend is always telling me I ride a young man's bike, I just laugh at her...oh well, you drive a young girls car.

I do Rabbit Hash Kentucky on Sunday afternoons..bikes lining both sides of the street for about a 1/4 mile...every Sunday without fail. There is a guy, he is about 62 years old and comes rolling in on his HOPPED up rocket, in his one piece leather, Shoei Helmet...Gloves, boots... and to me, he is the coolest 62 year old on the planet!!!!

Oh and, there aren't many guys in their mid 20's on their rockets at Rabbit Hash on Sundays who will claim out right that they could hang with the old man on the twisties either!!!!!!

I have been doing Rockets since the late 80's...and i know darn well I don't want any part of the old man, I have watched him leave out of there too many times, listening to him cracking through the gears and know how bad the road he is cracking through them on is. Im thinking at sometime in his younger years he must have raced them somewhere.

Coolest 62 year old on the planet!!!!!!!

  6. Although a crotch rocket is not my style, it isn't due to age, just preference.  If you want a sport bike, get a sport bike, by all means.

    Good luck, and happy riding!

  7. shut up...you fool...I'm 66 and I still pop wheelies and do endos on my 08 'busa...you are never too old for anything.

and BTW, I still get stiff woodys

    fo shizzle yo.

    peace.

  8. no... do what you enjoy (that's legal and moral) and ignore what everyone thinks.

  9. who cares what other people think, ride. if you fear what other people  think while your riding then your riding for all the wrong reasons. ride to love riding, not to impress.

  10. nope. ride what ya love, love what ya ride.

    but, are you experienced enough?

  11. I'm 38 and I'm not too old for anything!

  12. If you're asking that question, part of you obviously thinks you might be; which makes me think that you perhaps lack the self-confidence (or even experience) to use a sports bike.

The simple answer is no, you're not, as others have said; however, if you doubt your own ability then start with a tourer or cruiser till you feel confident enough. Better a live coward than a dead hero..... no offence meant of course.

Whatever you ride, good luck and enjoy it safely.

  13. it will be what you think that matters, There are 60 year olds riding them. The only thing is that these bikes are for fast, short distance ripping around, most people out of their 20's like cruisers, muscle bikes and choppers. The muscle bikes or dual bikes like yamaha fjr's give you a little bit of both  cruiser/sports bike.

  14. You've got to be kidding, right?  I am 52 and love sport bikes.  I have a Kawasaki Ninja and love it.  I also have a touring bike and a dirt bike.  I know of people older than me who ride sport bikes.  I'd say you are good for another 30 years at least.  Go for it but don't ride over your ability whether you are 28, 38 or 78.

  15. h**l no man. get out there and ride. any bike is good for anyone.

  16. No you're not to old for a crotch rocket not by a long shot. Just be careful because if you are not an experienced rider you are choosing a bike that is harder to ride. Maybe you might want to get some seat time on a bike that is more forgiving first.

  17. I'm 51. I have a Honda RC51 and a BMW K1200S. I'm thinking of adding a Ducati 1098. So I guess my answer to you is, no...you're not too old.
