1. Is it normal for your discharge to slow way down at this point in pregnancy, then start noticing your mucous plug slowly coming out, but without the normal discharge?

2. Why would your doctor strip your membranes way before trying to actually induce (like at 38 or 39 weeks)?

3. Could constant diarrhea bring on labor? I was wandering because big bowel movements can. right? like with castor oil (which I would never try!)

4. What are some reasons you could tell your doctor that you think you should be induced at 39 weeks? that would make them say yes.....I wouldn't lie or anything I just want to see if I have any of those reasons to tell her.

Please answer any of these questions that you can. I'm really curious.

  1. 1) Yes, it does slow down but how you finally lose it just depends

    2) Sometimes they'll strip the membranes because there are risks to induction with drugs

    3) Cator oil doesn't work and I don't know about diarrhea being an inducer

    4) We got our section scheduled earlier than normal because my husband  couldn't do it when the doctor wanted and I would have had no help watching my other child as my parents 'had' to go to a party.  It was just a bad week all around.

  2. The only one I can answer is #4...My doc is inducing me at 39 weeks for two reasons, I have really bad swelling of the feet and hands and my hands have been numb for the past 4 weeks due to pregnancy induced carpal tunnel syndrome.....I have also had high BP but it has subsided somewhat so...wish me luck I am being induced this Friday @ 39 weeks exactly!

  3. cant really answer these questions only you obgyn can you should get a second opinion if you don't agree

  4. im due on sept. 10th also!!

    1. your discharge can slow down, thats normal..but how you lose the mucus plug is different in every pregnancy. i lost mine when the midwife checked if i was dilated and it looked like having your period. but getting the discharge means that your cervix is thinning.

    2. this can be for medical reasons...its better for you to ask your doctor.

    3. i never heard of diarrhea bringing on labor.

    4. this completely depends on your doctor. some will induce you if you need to do something important like going back to work asap (of course it depends if the baby is healthy). i didnt want my baby to be born on 9/11...but i thought about it and i thought id let the baby decide when to be born.

GOOD LUCK...i dont know about you, but im getting very impatient fir the pregnancy to end..lol
