One time I rented and rode a 135 the next time I rented and rode a 140. Now I'm wanting to buy my own and can't find one I like around those sizes. Would a 142 or 144 be way too big?

  1. that's about how tall i am and i have a burton troop 140. i usually ride with a smaller board but the 140 is up to my nose. i think you'd be more likely to find a 144 you like than a 142. but i dont think it'll be too big.

  2. Depends on the type of riding you are doing and if you are still growing. About a 140 is right for you, but if you are getting a freeride board and / or still growing then I would get a little longer board.

    Try this calculator:

    Good Luck

  3. a snowboard that is between your chin and nose is the right size. smaller snowboards are good for control while larger snowboards are good for speed. if you are a beginner i recommend getting one thats around your chin at highest.

  4. it depends

if u want to do jumps and rails go for the 142

but if u just like to cruise or go down the hills then get 144
