I have a 15hh morgan horse and I'm just wondering if I'm too tall for him. If not, how tall is too tall for a 15hh horse?

I want to start jumping and dressage on him.

  1. It all depends if you'll be growing any taller and if you plan on keeping him for many years. In my expierence, being 5'5 and wieghing 125 Ibs, I've ridden horses who were 14.2 all the way up to 17 hh and have had no problems whatsoever.

  2. Probably not.  It depends on a couple of things.  1. How strong your horse is.  Is he a skinny thing with no muscles?  Is he fit? Old?  2. How good of a rider you are.  Do you thump on his back?  3. How heavy you are.  Do you weigh 130 or 230lbs?

  3. 15 hands is a good size.I am 4'9'' and I like small horses.I like a horse/pony about 13.2 hands,so 15 hands is perfect for you.

  4. you aren't too tall for your horse. I am 5'5" and have no problem with my geldings at 15.2 and 14.2 h. Over 6' it would probably start to look funny
