  1. im 5'2 and i play

  2. no i'm 5'4" and I play

  3. I am 5 foot even and entering high school volleyball. You can't use being short and excuse for not playing front row; we all have our shortcomings. You have to learn to overcome them. For example, you could practice jumping higher and serving harder. Being a great all-around player makes your coach want to play you more, even if it means playing your frontrow. Make sure your coach knows that you are confident in your abilities. You should be playing front row with a bit of practice (unless, of course, you have a c**p coach ;] )

  4. If you have a verticle you can play front row. If you don't, no ones to short for back row.

  5. Of course not!!!!! That is a great size... you don't have to be a spiker.

  6. No way, i'm 5'2 and I play on a high school team.  if you coach thinks that's too short, you could always be a defense player or setter.

  7. h**l no. there are fellas in my competion that are just 5". Just practice and you'll be fine.

  8. definently not... i'm 5'3 and i play for a club team. i dont think at either of our heights college volleyball is in the future-- but with a good approch and a killer spike you never know :)

  9. Absolutely not!!! U dont need to be tall to play!

  10. That's a great size! Although if your looking for something better than high school volleyball you'll be limited.

  11. No, but you may want to work on being a libero or a setter rather than a middle hitter

  12. for high school volleyball it's just fine, but if you're looking for something beyond that your positions will be limited to libero or defense specialist (backrow), or setter.

  13. Nope I'm five foot four and I play.

  14. Not at all. I do realize that that IS short in comparison to the "average" volleyball player, but is a perfect size, for a setter. Believe me, as someone who has been cut for being 5'2, I understand what is too short. As long as you feel like you can reach above the net, and you feel comfortable that's all that matters.

  15. Of course not. Although I suggest you work on passing as a specialty. At the libero position, you will mainly see shorter people playing that position. In high school you will see short setters, but as you move in college, setters are 6-1 and taller.

Also, I hope you have a vertical jump, as that will help you make plays at the net either defensively or offensively. I am 5'10" and I am a starting OH for my college team. You can do it.

  16. No way thats good size.
