I'm 5'6" and I am new to dirt biking. Would a 2 stroke 125 work for me?

I want to not buy another bike in a year if I grow.

At 5-6 you could ride the CRF150R or the 250F just fine, you did not state your weight or age so I can not give you more advice. The 125's are great but if your young learn to ride the four strokes since they are the future.

If your going for trail riding and not MX then the Yamaha TTR125 or  Honda CRF150F would be fine.

It will take a bit to get the feel of the bike, but you should be fine.

yes but with that power band in it u will start of really fast because as soon as it hits the power band it zooooooooooooooooooooooooooms!

You would be able to touch at least one foot to the ground on a 2 stroke 125cc so you should be fine.  Have you thought about a 4 stroke 250f as that would be another choice.
