I'm 5 foot 6 and nearly 16 years old. Dad is 5 foot 9 and mom 5 foot 4. There a chace ill be taller than dad?

My ethnicity is filipino if that has anything to do with it. I feel short I have so many taller friends haha.

Yes, there is still a chance you'll grow taller than your dad.  It has to do with hereditary stuff.  Ethnicity really doesn't have a lot to do with anything these days.  Except for if you're a full Filipino but that has more to do with dieases that you could inherit.  Anyways.  Boys aren't technically done grown until they're around 21, and most girls are done growing at around usually 18, sometimes 16.  

I've known a lot of guys that have just shut up out of no where when no one thought they were gonna get any taller, same with the girls.

Most Filipinos I know is either as tall as their dad or even taller but never shorter.  Even if height is generally genetic, I think good nutrition especially lots of protein for growth basically helps a little if not a lot.

If your dad grew up in the Phillipines and you grew up in the USA or Europe then you will probably be a little taller than him. If he grew up in the USA or Europe and so did you then you will probably be the same height as your dad. It has to do with difference in diet between the Phillipines and elsewhere.
