I have four cats. They are still very loving toward me and my husband, but have been having "accidents" a couple of times a day. They have been peeing right next to the litter box, instead of in it. There are 4 boxes, The basement floor is painted concrete. All four boxes are located in various locations in the basement and the floor is easily cleaned. They have not peed upstairs.

For the record, these are healthy cats in a clean home, and their boxes are changed frequently.

  1. yes, all animals can sense when something changes. Try to give them extra attention, and wait it out,  with 4 cats it's hard to determine which one(s) are doing this or I would tell you to put them in a very small area so they have no choice but to use the box, They'll usually settle down once the baby is born. Just remember to keep showing them attention once your baby is here or it could get worse.  My first cat actually started peeing on my baby's clothes bc I wasn't paying enough attention to him.  Good Luck.
