  1. If you are in good shape at 158 you could probably be in phenomenal shape at 154.  It's not too late at all, start doing conditioning in the mornings and working on your diet, those two things will affect everything else you do.

  2. no you are not too old to learn. However don't count on becoming professional and only start fighting if your coach believes you are ready to do so b/c while it is never to late to learn a lot of fighters will have up to 6 years experience on you by the time they are your age if you decide to go amateur.

Fighting and learning are two different things. you don't have to fight if you don't want to. Training for boxing is the best and hardest workout you can do b/c it incorporates all aspects of fitness.

  3. no

  4. NO IT IS NOT TO LATE

  5. Anyone here who thinks you are too old is full of ****. Boxing can be done at any age, and you can even get very good from your 20's or mid 20's.

and there are even world champions who have started that late as well.

All you do is train and study the sport harder to make up for lost time.

Anyone who has been doing boxing since he was 8 or 9 years old, wasted the first 4 or 5 years he was doing it since boxing as a kid does not help a young man who's body is so much bigger and moves so differently from a little kid.

  6. 21 is getting to the age that it’s going to be allot harder. Most good pro's have around 100 amateur fights by the time they turn pro at 18, that takes a while in the amateurs, then they have a bunch of pro starter fights. So at 21 if you really want to make a go at it you have to be willing to sacrifice allot more then fighters who started younger. 6 day's a week sparring, you will have to give up your friends, time with your family, and a romantic relationship will have to suffer, you will have to quit your job and find some way to support yourself while your training. You will have to give up the booze, drugs, fatty foods, soft drinks, staying up late, sticking to a strict diet. Plus you are going to have to train hard, harder then you can imagine you can train.

Get a good trainer and get ready, start sparing as soon as they will let you. Because you’re 21 and new to the sport you’ll have to find a trainer that’s willing to give allot of his time to a 21 year old man with no boxing experience, so when  your in the gym your going to have to give 110% everyday, show you have a good chin and good skills.

Then after a couple years of amateur, maybe by 26 you can get a pro career started.

You might be able to take 6 fights a year, so that in 3 years if you never lose and look good maybe you could get a shot at a top 20 guy, beat him and maybe a top 15, beat a few top 15's and you can probly get a top 10 guy, beat a couple top 10 guys then get a title shot if your a big enough draw.

Starting late can mean maybe you can fight till your late 30's.

Then again you could do all this get 10 fights into a pro career and get your *** handed to ya a few times, then you have to go back and get a S****y job somewhere. Thats the reality of it.

If your willing to risk it all for a long shot at a pro career at 21 then go for it. But know what you have to give up in order to do it. If you got some basic experience in boxing, such as stance, how to punch correctly, how to move correctly.

And fairly good shape is about 3% of where you have to end up to be successful as a boxer. Once you start training you’ll have sore muscles that you never even knew you had, you will probably puke for the first few weeks after or during workouts.

5'10" is a good height if you can stick around middleweight or welterweight.

It’s better to have tried and failed, then to sit there and wonder what if.

  7. It is never too late... You won't be going pro, but amatuer matches you can handle easily.

  8. h**l no get in that gym and train HARD....GO HARD.....and if your any good we'll be seeing a new champ I hope.....good luck Bro..........hey try some of Floyds moves dance and duck

alot and pop shots.....lol....but dont do the Cory Spink's..oh yeah watch out for Kelly Pavlik
