I'm 6'5", which 4 cylinder car would I be able to drive comfortably?

I currently own a '95 Ford Ranger which fits my long legs fine, but it only gets 22-23 MPG highway even though it's a 4-banger. So which little car would suit my long frame comfortably? Again, gas mileage is my only concern. Not speed or power and whatnot.

I've driven my brother's little Suzuki Swift hatchback before and it isn't that bad, but I still felt like a sardine. I've had people tell me that the Honda Civic would be too small for me, but I know d**n well the Civic can't be smaller than a Swift. Any advice would be appreciated.

Get a used Honda Accord Hybrid. Huge inside. They don't make them anymore so you need to get a used one. They are around though.

Nissan Altima has a boatload of room inside.

A larger hatchback would be best.The nissan Versa has a very tall roofline.

One of the commercials even shows people with crushed bushy hair being able to fit comfortably.

If you are willing to spend more money something like a chevrolet malibu hybrid would get even better MPG and offer more legroom.

How about the Ford Escape Hybrid?

The Escape Hybrid's front-seat compartment has almost the same interior dimensions as your Ford Ranger's cab, so you should be able to fit into it comfortably.

The Escape Hybrid gets 32mpg (30mpg highway / 34mpg city).  Almost a 50% improvement in fuel efficiency over the Ranger.

It's built Ford-tough--  New York City has been using the Escape Hybrid as taxi cabs since 2004 and they had no problems surviving the legendary abuse dished out daily by the infamous NYC cabbies.  (It's working so well, NYC is moving to an all-hybrid taxi fleet by 2012.)

Plus Uncle Sam will pay you $3100 to buy the 2WD 2008 model (the IRS Federal Tax Credit for hybrid vehicles).

The only problem?  It's hard to find a dealer with one in stock.
