  1. Lucas, lol im luke

  2. I like the name Tristan Caden..

    That sounds nice

and you can save the other two names for the next one>?

  3. Lucas. Good strong name. Luke for short.

Have a good one for you, Ronin.

    Good strong Irish name ..........................

  4. This is the genealogy forum.  How is that a genealogy question.

  5. Tristan. If my daughter came out a boy that's what her name would be right now.

  6. You might consider asking child-to-be's grandparents, instead of complete strangers. However, if you must ask strangers, you asked in the right category. We genealogists are warm, wise, well-read, gracious and devilishly handsome. We have lots of experience with names, too.

Just a hint, based on 20 years of tracking people down: If you make it too odd, he will spend half his life spelling it slowly and people will STILL get it wrong. "Grant" is good that way; all he has to do in the USA is say "Grant, like the general". "Caden" isn't good that way. Most people pronounce "Tristan" like "Tristen", so it isn't good that way. Not enough people listen to Wagner to get the reference, either.

My grandfather's surname was Wilken. He spent half his like saying "That's k-E-n', no 's' at the end". He and his siblings are "Wilkins" in about a quarter of the records I've found.

My friend's grandfather got saddled with "Llewellyn" by an overly romantic mother. He was "Luke" on every record I found from the third grade to his obituary, when the truth came out. Most of his friends never knew.

If you make it too odd (and children are very sensitive), don't be surprised if he comes home from his first term at college and tells you all of his friends call him "Chuck".

I'd toss Tristan and Caden for the reasons above. That leaves Lucas and Grant. Grant is more common, so I'd pick it unless Lucas was a family surname. A lot of people will shorten "Lucas" to "Luke", but "Grant" doesn't shorten.

    Hope this helps.

  7. i think that the name lucas is very cute, iam also 3 months pergnant, but just to say me and my bf only decied on a name only a couple of weeks befor the baby was born,my mother in law chois theres names when they where born, she named then what they looked like witch was cool,i guess every one has there own ways of decieding on a name, take care, and congrates.

  8. Tristain Lucas is a name that is lovely and differnt, but not wierd so he wont be beaten up in school. personally i think that caden is too popular, and grant is an old mans name. you want a name that will last with him through his life, not just suit him when he is older. but tristain is a fantastic name for a guy. its strong and cool. i love lucas as a middle name. ive known a few in my life, and they have all been nice, respectful and fun men.
