Question:

I'm 9dpo, this morning my first response early results test had a white line where the test line should be?

I've used at least two dozen and never seen this, unless I popped the test open then the line was always on the back of the strip. (I was using first morning urine and didn't pop this one open)

It had no color, just like a scratch across the test where the test line would be.

I know I'm reaching for straws here but what do you think?

Have any of you had this very early on then went on to get a positive a few days later?

  1. I had the same thing happen and I ended up not being pregnant.  It could be a faulty test though, so it's hard to tell.  Being that you are only 9DPO, I would wait until about 14 DPO (I know, it's really hard to wait) an re-test.  9DPO is VERY early to be testing and even if you are pregnant, it's probably to early to detect any HCG.  Good luck to you and baby dust!

  2. I have had this happen to me before with the white line several times and ended up not being pregnant.  However, if i was you, I would wait until you are late.  I have tested early and got a positive and then a few days after my period was supposed to come, I started bleeding.  That is devastating to think that you have finally done it and then to realize that you really haven't.

  3. I wouldn't rely on that test at all. Wait and retest. I'm one of those who didn't get a BFP until a day after missing my period (and with First Response!), so I have strong opinions against testing before missing a period.

  4. It was probably a faulty test. I'd wait until your period is due before you re test. I spent a fortune on first response pregnancy tests with my last 2 pregnancies, and only one was a positive the day before my period was due.

  5. The test was probably a bad test. I would wait another couple of days and then test again. Good luck!
