  1. Talk to the Chaplain, FRG, or most importantly... Soldiers and their spouses who have deployed in the past and see what their advice would be. Please do not ask civilians. They will never know what we have to deal with Brother!!! Or what our women go through.

  2. asher her that you will return

  3. Give her some FRG (family readiness group) information. They have meetings and all types of services that would comfort her.

  4. If this is your first deployment, you may want to ask someone who has deployed before, and who is in a similar situation how they deal with this.  Make sure your wife has good support at home.

But most importantly, as a woman, I can say that the best thing you can do is communicate with your wife.  Make sure she knows how much you love her and plan on being back as soon as you can.  While my husband is not in the military, I have several friends/relatives who have been in this situation, and lack of communication is the biggest complaint I hear from them.

And on another note, THANK YOU!
