I'm Addicted to my Hair Straightener?

okay, this is not a joke, i seriously have to straighten my hair everyday, or i can leave the house. unless i put it up. i know i need help, but i dont care.

but, my straightener kinda died this morning, cause the heating elements burned out, and idk what to do.

i would wear my hair naturally, but it dries really frizzy, and in one nasty whole wave. its disgusting. im actually going to target today, but my mom hates me straightening my hair, so buying another straightener in the near future isnt an option.

what can i do to my hair? because i have orientation on the 28th, and we have to take pictures.

  1. Your hair looks really good and shiny.  What product and straightner do you use?

Borrow one from a friend.  Use a curling iron to put some curls in and get rid of the frizz.  Beg your mom to get you a new one.  Find it at a discount on Craigs List or Ebay.

  2. The reason you think your hair looks bad is probably because you're straightening it too much. You burn your hair every single day, leaving it dry and gross. Try to find some hair products that compliment your curly/wavy hair, like DevaCurl shampoo, conditioner, and hair gel. That's what I use.

  3. You could blow dry it straight. Is your hair naturally curly or wavy? If so, you should try using organic shampoos and coditioners that don't have silicones in them. And after you wash your hair, make sure you NEVER brush curly/wavy hair..it separates the curl/wave and makes it frizzy.

Try using a good leave in conditioner(I use Cholesterhol and vo5 leave in conditioner that comes in the little tube). After that, put in a frizz serum or some gel.

    Hope this helps.

  4. you can blow dry your hair to make it straight. but you gotta do it with the brushand put product in it when its wet

  5. girl, i know i have the same problem. i always have to At least straighten my bangs. so i just stick my hair in a ponytail or messy bun...

how about your curl your hair for pic day?

  6. for now, you can put your hair up in a messy bun, no one will tell. go too any drug store and buy one ASAP. I like Remington Wet 2 Straight, you can use it on dry hair too. It works really well.

  7. They aren't that expensive. You can get a decent one for like 30 bucks. Buy it yourself.

  8. Get to a drugstore and buy a new straightener. And if you're really doing that everyday to your hair, please use a heat protecting spray on your hair first! Your hair may be super damaged that's why it is frizzy, because of all the dead ends you've made.

I use Beyond the Zone's Pump Up the Heat Spray, Bed Head has some good stuff too. I'm half Black/Korean with curly hair and I do straighten it everyday or apply some form of heat to it, the heat protection spray has helped my hair so much!

  9. Maybe its a sign that you should knock it off. Your going to ruin your hair from the heat of straightening every day. Work with what nature gave you. Get a anti frizz serum & work that through while your hair is pretty damp & let air dry. Or use a diffuser to finish off drying it. Don't use mousse b/c it leaves your hair stiff. You want natural softness. Walmart has a variety of the anti frizz stuff. I wouldn't say wavy is is nasty or disgusting. I bet if you scrunched as you use a diffuser it would get pretty curly. Try something different. Every girl I see with straight hair all look the same & wear the same tired styles. Stand out for your pictures, be different.
