  1. Write the reasons you dont. Dont be rude about it. Really research it. Its a very interesting debate. Show both sides and then give your thoughts on them. It could be a great paper. Although you might have waited a little to long to do a thorough job.

  2. I'd take the zero.

  3. Don't rock the boat.  Soon enough you'll be of an age when you can make your own rules.  (No, really, don't laugh, it will happen!)  For now, tell them what they want to hear.  Get the diploma with a smile as sincere as you can muster and then go out into the world and seek your fortune.  Have as much fun as you can get away with in the meantime!

  4. Well I would write about why you are agnostic.  I would hope, regardless of the school they would grade you on your writing and ability to form a good argument on your position, and not the position itself.   If they can't you need to go to a different school.

  5. You should just turn in a full on report about Evolution and the Big Bang and how stupid the idea of God is. That'll teach 'em!

  6. Why do you go to a Christian school if you are agnostic?  You could write why you think other people believe in God...

  7. Does your teacher know you are agnostic?  If so, he/she may be using the Socratic Method of teaching.  In other words, the instructor is trying to  get you to see the other side to your position.  Take the assignment seriously.  In doing so, you may end up bolstering your own argument and your abilities to effectively debate the other side.

Since you are agnostic, you believe that you can neither prove nor disprove the existence of a god or gods.  Maybe try this as a launching pad....

"Many of us realize that there is evil in the world.  As a balance, there must also be good.  Since many things are out of humankind's control,  there must be some kind of supernatural deities, one evil and one good, guiding us....."

    Just an idea...

  8. Ahaha.

I'm in the same boat as you are.

I'm an athiest and I have to write a paper on why I belive the human body is proof to Creation and God and stuff.

    Mine's due tomorrow too.

Good luck to both of us.

Oh, and before any of you asks, my parents shoved me in the Christian school I'm in, to try and convert me. XD

  9. Are you afraid to tell them that you're agnostic?

  10. Under most circumstances, I would recommend that you at least not lie. I think it's doubtful the school will expel you just for being an agnostic, in which case the worst that can happen is that you might get a zero on the assignment. So unless the school is run by really hardcore christians who think the best way to interact with non-christians is using a cross and some holy water, you can probably more or less get away with it. In that case, one idea would be to mention that you don't believe in God, but then write about why you WOULD believe in God if you did, or what, if anything, might convince you to believe in God. On the other hand, lying remains an option if you need it.

  11. Write the typical christian response

Not hard to think of BS

And you should think about going to a REAL school

  12. It depends on whether you want to be honest or not. If you are agnostic, then you must wonder about the idea of god. What is it that you wonder about? That would make a good topic, if you want to be honest. Most likely, a christian school will not appreciate such honesty. In that case, make up something.

  13. "Without empirical evidence for any supernatural force or entity, the question of god is unknowable."

Why should you say anything other than what you believe? If we are talking about an assignment and not an "argue this" paper, why be their cog in the wheel?

But if you DID choose to lie, I could regurgitate some c**p on the fly. It is easier to be a preacher than anything else because you just have to be appealing, not support your views with concrete evidence:

"I believe that the question of God is one that carries profound implications. Many peoples, cultures, and even governments have argued over the interpretation of one or many gods in the course of human history. Even Christianity has been a divisive influence on the world stage. Yet true Christianity, reflected by our Lord Jesus Christ, has always been a force for peace (oh h**l not thinking of the "sword" passage). It is distinct from other belief systems. Our loving God sacrificed (murdered) his only son so that the human race can redeem itself from original sin and rectify the mistakes of the past. Jesus is a force for reconciliation (edit: death). He granted my salvation and gives me a backbone (edit: weakness) for my faith. Today's Christianity represents the power of forgiveness and unification under a loving God. No other religion has offered such a promise through peaceful (read: barbaric cultural imperialistic) means."

Oh h**l my cynicism is seeping through....never mind, it is hard to be a preacher. I just can't lie that easily.

  14. Write as if the question were "Why do you hold the belief you do concerning God."  Since the question pre-supposes the topic is the Abrahamic god, phrase your response accordingly.  Let the chips fall where they may, but write your best.

If they mark you down for not believing in God, go to your folks and tell them how you feel about that.

  15. Try to keep it general, so it's not an out-and-out lie. I would keep Jebus out of it, and just write about how amazing the universe is, and how it's comforting to think that we are not alone. Which is all true, and you don't actually have to be Christian to think that.

  16. tell them what you really beleive in and get kicked out. then you wont ever have to go to catholic school again. it's all a bunch of LIES.

  17. Why don't you write what you know? Why you do, or don't believe in god. I see nothing wrong in showing both sides.

  18. Time to come out of the closet and write the truth. Wish I was there to see the look on your teachers face!

  19. Christians have had to write papers on evolution before.  I'm sure you can figure something out.  But, be sure to think about your teacher and his/her possible reaction, in case you want to do something incredibly intense.  Whatever you do, do it respectfully.

  20. You'll get an A if you feed them back what they are feeding you. If you write about agnosticism they'll be pains with you.

  21. Truth is best.  Maybe it's time you owned up to it.  If anyone gets "upset" because you tell the truth...

You just tell them- Hey, Jesus said to tell the truth. He called Lucifer the father of lies.   So you are only speaking the truth.

  22. I'm a Christian, and if I understand Agnosticism correctly, you aren't sure if there is a God or not, but you don't think so (?), as opposed to Atheism where they believe God doesn't exist.

I would suggest you write what you truly believe.  If you don't think God exists, explain why.  Or why you are "on the fence" on this issue.  I think it comes down to what you think and believe, so you should focus on that and write that.
