  1. Sign up to digital banking & manage all your bills online. You can pay bills in any currency as it is automatically converted for you. I pay many bills in dollars & it appears as pound sterling on my statement.

  2. Make sure you keep your US bank accounts open, then fund them with transfers from your UK accounts once you start getting paid. There are fees involved, but the bank I use charges a set fee however much I transfer - so I tend to make fewer, larger transfers rather than lots of little ones.  I think you might find the UK banking system is a lot more "user friendly" and easy to negotiate compared to ours here in the US.

  3. you should be able to electronically transfer funds between banks rather easily.  Call your current US bank and see if they have an afiliate bank in the UK.  Establish an account with them.  They can transfer funds for you, of course there will be some foreign exchange fees, but they should be minimized using an affiliate.
