Now, i'm 13.. We all know - No cure has ever been found.

I hate being different, it's just wrong. I'm exactly the same person as you.

And i've even proved it.

I'm not scared of talking, h**l I love to talk to people - I like to learn what peoples favorite things to do are and go out with them.

I was told I would never get a wife/girlfriend.. and kisses .. Well I have a girlfriend and have been kissed.

They also say I am ONLY precise and need things in color order.

I don't care if it's in order or not.. most the time .. It's out of order and not even color organized.

But heres the only problem.

I'm very literal .. I take everything literal.. I'm a kid - I know things like "Go take a long walk off a short bridge" and I know that basically means "Leave me alone". Most the time I can pick up on it.. But sometimes not.

But sometimes I take things literally ... How can I know between it being sarcasm or real.

Don't say "Your autistic, You cannot" Truth is.. I've done things that the doctors said i'd never do.

  1. Evey one is different. That's what make the world a better place. I cannot imagine if everyone was the same.

People with autism are very literal.  You could tell people to tell you what they mean.  If they are your friends the will understand. Perhaps educate them on autism. Have them go to www.autism-society.org.

I think that it is great that you have surpassed what your doctors have told you. You have a great attitude about all this. You must have a great support from your parents and teachers. I work with a 17 year old that has autism. He got his drivers licene, and when to the prom this year. (That should be the next goal for when you turn 16. Get your permit)  He is planing on being a car designer and wants to attend UCLA or UCR.  (I hope you plan on going to college)

Be proud of who you are. Just keep it possitive and keep learning.

  2. Google "autism" and get results such as those below

  3. You are not autistic. Next time somebody calls you autistic tell them they are wrong.

  4. How did you find out you were autistic? If you are autistic, you are very, very high functioning. My suggestion for being literal is to listen to the person's voice to see if they sound serious or not. If you are autistic, that won't help much because you will have better visual ability than auditory ability, so look at the person's face when they say it. If they are laughing or smiling while saying something serious, then they probably don't mean it.

Seems like you are pretty regular. Just go out and live your life and don't listen to people tell you how you are supposed to be. Dr. Temple Grandin is autistic and she has written several books and regularly lectures. You might try reading one of her books. There are people who are autistic that lead very successful lives. Just search the Internet and you will find numerous books written by autistic people.

  5. Who diagnosed you with Autism?  You can get a second opinion to start with.  You appear to be quite capable and willing to go forward with your life.  That's something you can be very proud of!  As far as the literal interpretation is concerned, many people don't get sarcasm.  It's a cruel thing, meant to hurt someone.  Try to look at the person's facial expressions, body language, and listen to their tone of voice.  These are usually signals of the intent of their comments.  These are better indicators than trying to interpret their words.  You are not alone.  Much of our slang is just a way of expressing oneself, and not meant to be taken literally.  Just relax and be comfortable with who you are.  Each of us is unique, and very special.  We should never strive to be just like everyone else merely to fit in.  It's great to stand out and apart from the others.  Be proud of who you are.  You are not the person with the problem -- that's the guy who needs to use sarcasm to get a point across.

  6. wow, i'm the same as you, i'm autistic and proved beyond what my parents and doctors said about me and i'm proud of myself for that. i was 13 when i got told i had asperger's and now i'm 14. don't worry being the same is boring, different is cool.

  7. Do not listen to others people comments, You are a person, not a beast! There are stupid people in the world that thinks autism is a joke.

I really don't know what to answer to your question, but I just wanted you to know  that there ARE people out there who believe that a child with autism can do anything he proposes to.Don't listen to the "You're autistic, You cannot...." phrases, but still be careful with what you do.

And for your personality, I think that you're a non-comformist.And a rebel too! haha,

                     Bye!
