I didn't have all too much money at the time and bought the cheap plywood. How can I make it last long?

  1. We have already discussed this!

Go back to the website and look at all of the OSS boats. Some were made of luan.

Cheap ply, is fine. Good glue is the key. Use polyurethane. Paint the outside with an oil base enamel. You won't leave it in the water always, so when you take it out, store it upside down. It will last as long as you. You may have to repaint every 5 years or so.

Oh yeah, BTW, How much have you spent? Did you stay under your $109.00 budget?

  2. Only till it gets wet>Then it will delaminate> Unless you fiberglass over it>

  3. paint it with the best marine grade paint you can afford. inside and out. start with a good primer.
