Question:

I'm Feeling Really Guilty Right Now...?

This afternoon my mom took me and my sisters to get some ice cream, but i think i went overboard! I got a twist ice cream in a waffle cone. A good 2/3 of the cone was covered in chocolate and peanuts. I ate the entire thing, but now i feel so guilty. I went for a walk afterwards, but i still feel bad. I usually eat pretty healthy. I wish i could just enjoy my food without feeling bad about it afterwards. Is it ok to treat myself like this once in awhile? Should i feel guilty about it?

  1. C'mon! Don't be so hard on yourself! You can eat everything you like but have smaller portions of the food you enjoy You need to learn how to limit these foods to small quantities - say, for special occasions. Don't worry so much! Enjoy your life with good things and bad things. We are not perfect!

Despite popular belief it is not terrible to eat after 6 PM. A reasonable dinner is going to help deliver nutrients to the body to prepare it for the next day.

  2. Of course it's okay! At this rate I wouldn't worry about being overweight but underweight! Be careful that you don't skip meals or anything because that will totally s***w up your diet. That's good though that you are cautious about what you put into your body. Unless you are full, don't skip a meal. Your body needs food for fuel! Good luck and eat dinner!

  3. You shouldn't feel guilty about what you eat, thats a sign of an eating disorder.  And yes, its ok to treat yourself every now and then, just don't go overboard.  You didn't go overboard with the ice cream so just relax.

It's not like one freaking ice cream is gonna kill you.

  4. Once in a while will not harm you so much, but try to learn from your mistake, so do not repeat it again. After all, these cones are not even ice-scream, they are iced butter+trans fat and a lot of sugar, all that is bad for you.

And what is interesting that they cost a lot of money.

If I crave ice cream, I would never have a cone with those chocolates in it, "unless the company pays me for that", as I would not pay them to eat something that harms me.

  5. thats fine!

  6. We all tend to over eat from time to time, especially on weekends. When that happens, you have to just pick yourself up and move on. And yes, it is OK and expected that you would treat yourself to a snack that is not so healthy once in a while. One little snack like what you described is not going to kill your diet. By all means, you should definitely eat dinner. What you suggested sounds good and healthy. If you want some more healthy tips, I have some here.
