i've been playing and i've tried playing tight during freeroll tournaments but i get terrible hands(2,4;4,6) for loooong periods of time and if i get AK...the flop is queen jacks.......and someone is always willing to bet bigger than me....Only the pocket rockets havent dissappointed once up till now. If i play looser they still call everything...

Any help with this.....this is a recent problem....very new...wasnt happening before...

  1. Get a few books by different well known players to get different views of how to handle the same sxituations.  Trythem out then develop your own style that works for you.

Try playing other games.  When my luck runs out and my hands go dead for long spells, I'll try free roll Razz or HORSE just to change things around.  Sometimes I'll shift from no limit to limit hold -em.  I also checkmy attitude.  If I feel like I want to play but I know I'm going to loose - I stay out.

ou ned to get to the point where your intuition is on the money which takes a lot of play.

    Good luck!

  2. Hey, man...those are the breaks in poker.  You'll find yourself on amazing runs where it doesn't seem like anyone can take you down, but then sometimes the dry spells last quite as long, seemingly longer, as well.  You gotta take the bad with the good, my friend.

  3. the majority of it is luck. though try working on your poker face =)

  4. hi, I have this problem as well its like i got KK someone has AA I got 222 over 33 someone got 333 over 22 i got KQJ109 and someone got AKQJ10 so I'm on a long term break from on line poker but i will come back. At first i thought that my betting was too soft but when i raised more with great hands but people would still call me with 22 and win, so then i said to my self maybe i need too change gears more still no difference I guess lady luck must of left me for a bit

  5. you are playing too tight, for 1 thing you cant complain about any bad beat in a freeroll. start betting more agressive on the button with any 2 cards and look for dead money in play (check check check) It sounds as if you are not betting when you are 4 flushed or 4 to a straight agressive enough.Just remember agressive poker is winning poker. If you can isolate with a bet to bet heads up and the flop looks blank bet agressive, you "should" be precieved as playing a pocket pair. Good luck. Also there are tutorial websites like pocket fives.com. they help lots

  6. Read articles, get Super System 2 and the Harrington on Hold 'em series and read those.  Find a poker forum and join.  The one at www.homepokertourney.com is good, but be prepared to hear the straight unrelenting truth about your play.  It will not always be put nicely, but it's all honest advice and it's all GOOD advice.  Apply what you learn from them and you should get better.

There are dozens of variables you have to consider before playing a hand, and until you learn how to do that, you'll be a bad player.  If you're not willing to work at being good, either quit or accept that you'll always suck.
